IOW Chilli Fiesta

Dr Bean's spent the weekend at the IOW Chilli Fiesta, held at Smallbrook Stadium. The predicted rain didn't really arrive and both days were hot and sunny as well as being hot from chilli tasting. We sold a lot of water alongside our rather nice iced coffees.
It's great to see new events starting up and there are already plans for it to take place again next year.

One year ago. . .

A whole year ago, the Olympics was just about to start. Where did that time go?

Dr Bean's Day Out

Dr Bean went to London yesterday. We walked miles and miles. We went to our favourite fabric shop (No.47) and another favourite shop. We also went to the Tate Modern, walking past the Globe theatre, which looked lovely in the (still cold) sunshine. The Lichtenstein exhibition was rather better than we hoped it might be and is definitely worth a visit.

Perhaps next time we should spend more time and stay here. .

Coffee Art Project

A combination of Coffee and Art? Sounds just right for Dr Bean. We are sending a rather fine example of bag-shaped art (what else?).
Just the right size for a bag of coffee beans (or two), with plenty of coffee-related information included and some important advice about cup size. . .
The Coffee Art Project is  part of UK Coffee Week, which takes place 22 - 28 April and is supporting Project Waterfall.
All artworks will be auctioned to raise funds for this cause.

Jumblies Bag

The Jumblies Bag is our favourite. The bags look better with more words on, that's the key. Perhaps therefore, we should do more.
And look, this one is very special - on it's way to Fife, none-the-less.

Be not afeard.

We've been making this bag for a while, but realised that it wasn't in the online shop. The quote is taken from Caliban's speech in the Tempest (Act 3, scene 2). We just liked the words and strangely enough, this extract was used in the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games, spoken by Kenneth Branagh, whilst dressed as Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Who could forget?
Anyway, the bag is now in the shop.
